Woke up to a steady rain. Slept ok. It’s always fun trying to keep everything dry as you pack. And of course, the tent’s rainfly is soaked, so you have to stuff it someplace where it won’t get everything else wet.
Jeff woke up with an upset stomach and hasn’t been feeling right since yesterday. Shortly after we headed out, he got really sick. We had 20 miles of single track trail with a lot of climbing and it was really slow going. The Olympic Adventure Trail is a quality trail but challenging. We eventually got to the trailhead with lots of breaks, then headed on a bike path into Port Angeles. We decided to get a room and see if some time and rest can help Jeff recover.
We are definitely at the back of the pack now, but hope to get an early start tomorrow and get some miles in.
It’s been 100 miles of hard pedaling so far, but looking forward to the days ahead.
