The XWA Cross Washington Mountain Bike Race Fundraiser is a way to support the educational and extracurricular programs of Liberty Christian School of the Tri-Cities, with the immediate need of completing the renovation of the Art Wing & Flex Space capital project.

Jim Cochran, the Superintendent of Liberty Christian School, is passionate about his faith, Christian education and cycling. He uses these three passions to fuel his mission at LCS. By day, Jim is a school superintendent, spending his time with staff and students and leading the operations of a K4-12 grade program.

Before and after the school bell rings, Jim often suits up and heads out for ride time. He has toured extensively throughout the western United States and Canada,

Before relocating to the Northwest in 2014, Jim Cochran lived in Southern California where he and various riders raised funds to benefit education and health. Since 2004, Jim and his companions have been there riding for the kids. From 2010 to 2014, his students joined him on an annual cycling tour from Southern California to Phoenix, Arizona. In 2012, he founded Strada Corsa, a nonprofit charity to promote education and fighting childhood obesity.

Upon his arrival at LCS, he did a couple summer fundraising tours for the school and now is the time to pick it back up to raise funds for the growth the school is experiencing. Jim is committed to the journey as well as the destination. This is not just about raising money, but it’s about raising kids and preparing the next generation for their futures.

Now, more than ever, children need role models and opportunities to get a solid foundation in their education and life choices. The XWA Race is Jim’s latest effort to raise funds and impact young lives in a positive way.
